International Mission Board Update

As Southern Baptists, we are part of something big -- a worldwide effort to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with every person in every place! At Cornerstone, we send 10% of our General Fund Receipts to the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention, which helps to support the ministries at home and around the world to tell people about Jesus.

The International Mission Board receives a portion of what we give each month to the Cooperative Program. In fact, 50% of what the International Mission Board uses to fund it's work is provided through the Cooperative Program. The half comes from the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions. You may wonder what your giving is helping to do. Here are some of the highlights just from the International Mission Board:

Field personnel under appointment (9/11/08) -------- 5,397

You can go to the IMB website to see all of the facts. But I hope you see that what we are talking about is a truly world-wide effort. Jesus has given us a worldwide mission, and as Southern Baptists, we are trying our best to fulfill that mission. Thank you for your faithful giving and support of our common mission of taking the message of Jesus to the ends of the earth.
