As most of you know, our church voted to establish a "Campbell Family Fund" to help the Bill Campbell family as he undergoes treatment for Multiple Myeloma, a rare cancer of the plasma cells of the blood. Bill and Dione have been in Tulsa, Oklahoma for several weeks where he has started treatments. You can always keep up with the latest on Bill by visiting his CaringBridge site. I have added the link to his site under "Cornerstone Links" on the sidebar for easy access.
Yesterday, April 19, 2009, we kicked off the fund by taking a special offering during our morning worship service. Your response was tremendous! Already, more than $3,500 has been given to help the Campbells during the months ahead as Bill is unable to work during his treatments and recovery. As you know, the six Campbell kids are staying with family here in Jefferson City while Bill and Dione are in Tulsa. They all mean so much to us, and it is a real honor to be able to stand with them during these days.
The fund will remain open for the indefinite future. So gifts can be made to it at any time. Checks can be made to "Cornerstone Baptist Church" and marked for "Bill Campbell." Thanks again for helping to get this ministry effort off to a great start!
