Let Us be Thankful for the Goodness of God - Psalm 31:19

How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you. - Psalm 31:19

We are in the Thanksgiving season. It's hard to believe the year is drawing to a close. But giving thanks to God for His goodness is really not supposed to be a "season" of the year. It ought to characterize our lives day by day. There are so many Scriptures that speak to why we can, and should be thankful to God. Over the next couple of weeks, we'll take a look at some of those Scriptures.

Psalm 31:19 speaks of the "goodness" of God. Did you know that God is good? The Bible teaches that God is all good - 100% of the time. There is no darkness, no evil, not even the slightest hint of what is not good in Him. That is so important for us to understand because it means we can know that God always has our best interests at heart. He is good - and because He is good, His will and His purposes for us are good as well.

For those who "fear" God - who honor and respect God, He has "stored up" for us His blessings and His good! God wants to pour His goodness into your life, and He can do that when you turn to Him in faith through Jesus Christ.  God's goodness is reality no matter the circumstances you face. Trust Him. Submit to Him. Rest in His goodness and His grace. Let us be thankful for a God who is good - all the time.
