Results of Vote on Future Growth Committee Report

At the end of our Sunday Morning Worship Service yesterday, we held a Special Business Meeting to vote on the Future Growth Committee Report laying out a plan for the future of our church. Last night we reported the tabulated results of that vote. The results are as follows:

Vote Results on Future Growth Committee Report
March 27, 2011

I support the adoption of Objectives 1-5:

Yes = 91         No = 2          97.9%

I support the adoption of Objective six, to provide for future church growth and expanded ministry through a Family Ministry Center:

27 = 5 – Strongly in Favor

35 = 4 – I’m in favor, but will support
               whatever decision the church
               body makes.

15 = 3 – I’m OK with it either way.

6   = 2 – I’m not in favor, but will
              support whatever decision the
              church body makes.

10 = 1 – Strongly Opposed.

Percentages:

66.7% = “Strongly in Favor” or “I’m in Favor” (Ratings 4-5)

82.8% = “Strongly in Favor,” “I’m in Favor,” or “OK with it either way” (Ratings 3-5)

89.2% = Ratings 2-5

17.2% = “Not in Favor,” or “Strongly Opposed” (Ratings 1-2)

10.8% = Strongly Opposed (Rating 1)

The Future Growth Committee will meet soon to discuss these results, and will bring a recommendation regarding Objective 6 based on the vote. The scale vote on Objective six was used to asertain whether or not there was a consensus in the church as to moving forward with planning for a Family Ministry Center some day. Objectives 1-5 have been adopted by this vote.

Thank you so much for your prayer and participation in this process. Continue to pray that Cornerstone will be in the center of God's will as we seek to effectively share the Good News of Jesus Christ with our area.
