As we begin the Christmas Season, I hope you will reflect on just how wonderful the love of God is. His love is so great that He came into this world and took on human flesh in order to deal with the central problem of every human life: Sin. Jesus was born so that we can be forgiven and be born to new life in Him! If He had not come into the world, there would be no hope for us today. Christmas is a time to focus on God's love and forgiveness, and on how our lives are reflecting His love and forgiveness. When the Christ of Christmas transforms your life, you are filled with gratitude for His mercy in coming into a world of darkness to bring His marvelous light! God wants that light to shine in your life! Let that light shine and let the love of Jesus flow through your thoughts, your words, your actions. Jesus really is the reason for the season. The Light of His Presence breaking into this dark world makes it possible for us to genuinely say, "Merry Christmas!"
Rose and I want to thank you for being a wonderful church family. Your many words and thoughts of appreciation week by week, and day by day are such an encouragement to us. I can't thank you enough for allowing me to serve alongside you as pastor at Cornerstone. I am grateful to God for leading us here. Together, may we point people always to the Christ of Christmas! As John the Baptist said of Jesus, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). May Jesus “increase” through our lives till the world can see Him clearly in us.
